When Tracy Turnblad (Blonsky) gets the opportunity to join the coolest kids around, a musical dance group on television series The Corny Collins Show, she is thrilled. But soon she finds that those in charge of the show are unwilling to make changes to meet with the demands of the young people of the day, and sets out to bring about equality for all involved.

This was a surprisingly fun movie, filled with silly songs and energetic dance numbers. Travolta's makeup is hysterically amazing, and the plot itself is touchingly forward thinking whilst keeping its tongue firmly placed in its cheek. Anyone who likes light hearted comedy musicals like Little Shop Of Horrors or Grease will surely enjoy this little gem.
